I have lived in Don Mills on and off for 35 years.  I grew up in Don Mills and attended Norman Ingram Public School and Don Mills Collegiate, along with my three sisters.  My parents bought our house on Berkinshaw Crescent in 1961, which my husband and I recently purchased.  We previously lived outside of Canada for over 10 years, working in international consulting firms in Los Angeles, London and Zurich, but returned to Canada in 2013 to be closer to family and friends.   We decided to move back to Don Mills because we loved the community and integrated parks system, and having lived and travelled all over the world, we appreciate the uniqueness of Don Mills as Canada’s first planned community.

I have been actively involved in voicing concerns regarding the Pearson concentrated flight path over Don Mills since 2012, and have met with various politicians at all levels of government representing Don Mills about this issue.  I grew up in such a beautiful, peaceful place where my house felt more like a cottage than a suburban house, which has been compromised in recent years due to the never ending sound of planes flying too frequently, too low and too loud over our neighbourhood.

I wanted to join the DMRI Board to help preserve and improve Don Mills so it remains the best place to live in the GTA!
