The University Women’s Club of North York

The University Women’s Club of North York was founded in 1951. We have over 200 members who represent a wide variety of interests, disciplines, and professional achievements.

We are a diverse group of around 245 women from the North York area representing a dynamic range of experience, ages and interests. We are committed to improving the status of women, and to promoting human rights, public education, social justice, and peace.  Membership is open to any woman who is interested in furthering these purposes. A degree is no longer a requirement for membership.

Our club is a member  of the Canadian Federation of University Women. Through CFUW our club is linked to Graduate Women Internationalworld-wide network of women who bring different perspectives to concerns similar to ours.

We have a general meeting once a month at St. Bonaventure Parish Centre, Leslie And Lawrence. The club has some 30 interest groups to keep you busy and interested through the month.  Most meet in member’s homes. It is no longer necessary to have a university degree, but only to agree to support the betterment and education of women and girls around the world. All meetings are at 7:30 pm and guests are always welcome.
