Member at Large/Communications: Doris Bies
Paul and I moved to Toronto in 1983. After living in the west end for a year, we settled in Don Mills, mainly because of it’s small town feel. Both our children grew up in Don Mills, attending the local public school through to high school.
I joined the DMRI because I wanted to take an active role in working with the community. Don Mills is a beautiful area with so much to offer – biking, walking, golfing, shopping, or just playing cards with your neighbours. My hope is that even though change is coming, we can slow it down or at least always maintain that Don Mills feeling that we all know and love.
During the day, my husband and I run a Brand Communications company in Don Mills, which is in walking distance of our home. When I’m not working or volunteering for the DMRI, I also volunteer for the SBA, a wonderful basketball organization where I help to coach kids. One of my other favourite pastimes is art and photography and Don Mills has no shortages of places to take photos.
In my role as communications for the DMRI, I would love to hear your story. Please feel free to contact me. dmriCommunications@dmri.ca
